Many years ago a sophomore at Amherst College named Amit Gupta built the first Daily (then called Amherst Central). He and a few friends found that all of the Amherst-related web sites were created by the school's administration or, even worse, were cheesy sites created by folks who hadn't been to a campus in years and had no idea what students needed or wanted. So these little "bastards" figured they'd change all that.

On the real, I actually only joined the Jolt because I thought it'd be a good ruse to shroud my nefarious world-domination scheme. However, if you find any of the content my team and I place on here conducive, interesting, helpful, etc. to any degree, well...I guess that's straight, too.

I'm the guy who's the "Van Wilder" in my group of friends; I've been here at UConn so long I can still remember the old Co-Op. I'll be the guy running around behind the scenes here and letting the rest of the team take over as I slowly "retire." Of course, I may come out of "retirement" for once last dramatic comeback, but I doubt it. After all, after 2+ years with the Daily Jolt, I'm sure they're sick of me by now.
